7 lucky Brits now millionaires as Lottery ticket-holders urged to check numbers

Seven Brits are now millionaires – after a big jackpot roll-down in the National Lottery draw on Saturday night.

The special £20million jackpot wasn't scooped by one single ticket holder but instead led to seven new millionaires and players are being urged to check the tickets to see if they bagged the huge sum.

The roll-down lottery features a 'must be won' staggering figure, where if the top jackpot isn't drawn, other lottery tickets receive a bigger prize.

Among other players, more than 1.6 million people won £5 and a free Lucky dip, alongside the seven who matched five main numbers and the Bonus Ball in the draw.

Camelot’s Andy Carter, Senior Winners’ Advisor at The National Lottery, said, “What amazing news – a big jackpot roll-down in tonight’s special £20M Lotto ‘Must Be Won’ draw has resulted in seven new millionaires being created after seven lucky ticket-holders matched five main numbers and the Bonus Ball.

"More than 1.6 million players also won £5 plus a free Lucky Dip just for matching two main numbers. As no ticket-holder won the jackpot, the prize is shared between all the other winners.

“National Lottery players make a huge difference to National Lottery Good Causes across the country generating more than £30M every week. Thanks to National Lottery players, over £1.2BN has been distributed to date across the UK to help tackle the impact of coronavirus.”

It comes after one lotto winner quit her day job to become a ghost hunter with her husband.

The couple, who bagged the Set For Life draw, didn't realise they bagged the top prize of £10,000 a month for 30 years for two whole weeks.

Laura Hoyle, 39, and Kirk Stevens, 37, were left speechless after the eye-watering win, and she only thought she had received a fiver when she kept receiving messages to check her account.

The pair, from Nottinghamshire, matched all five main numbers and the Life Ball on March 1.

They now decided to add ghost hunting to their list of adventures, after searching for spooky encounters for years part-time.
