The smallest pole dancing club in the world has opened – and it measures just eight-foot square.

Spearmint Seagull, based in Westward Ho, North Devon comes complete with a shiny metal pole and black walls.

The interior also includes zebra-skin soft furnishings, mirrors, a disco light, a heater, purple LED lights and a Bluetooth speaker.

And, for some reason, it can be found in a beach hut on the terrace of the Waterfront Inn pub.

The unique club has a special kind of security on top, as punters can find a metal “sea-curity” gull on the roof, Devon Live reports.

Owner and the bright spark behind the club, Rob Braddick, said: “'ve always been a bit of a pranker. We were building an extension for a pub to add on some seating areas.

"We just wanted to have a bit of fun. We have so much trouble with seagulls swooping down for chips so we wanted to create something to get them away from the chips.

“It was purely for a bit of a giggle. I don't think there's anything like this out there. It's just nice to have a laugh and see people smiling, especially over the past two years.

"We just like to do things different down here.

One of the locals, called Janice, posted about the new addition to the local area on social media.

She wrote: “I love it, it's a little bit of fun which we all need in this world at the moment. If it makes you smile do it is what I say!

“I'm 57 and hopefully teaching ladies to love their curves and have fun at any age. I just hope I didn't put anyone off their breakfast – which was lovely may I add!"

Unlike pretty much every pole dancing and lap dancing club in the world, this one is free.

It has been named in honour of, what Mr Braddick calls “squawking beach chickens”.

He added: “Hopefully it’ll give them somewhere else to go, other than my beer garden upsetting the customers.

“It’s all done to raise a smile or a giggle, so please don’t drop in your CVs saying you are a former dancer and looking for work.”

At the other end of the scale, the world's largest gentlemen's club is actually the Sapphire Las Vegas Gentlemen's Club.

It measures a whopping 70,000 square feet and has more than 400 women on site.

And, as it's in Las Vegas, the club is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

It also, strangely, has a robotic bull riding machine, which has become somewhat of a local attraction.
