Denver had a slight chance for snow overnight but missed getting any flakes once again, meaning 2021’s bid at the latest first snow is still alive.
According to the National Weather Service in Boulder, Denver will rise from a chilly morning of 22 degrees to a mild 53 degrees downtown on Friday. It will be sunny in the metro, with a few light snow showers in the high country later on. Friday night kicks off the weekend at 38 degrees and should be mostly clear as the region gets drier.
The missed chance for snow overnight means Denver is now just nine days away from reaching the record for the latest first snowfall on record — Nov. 21, 1934.
Saturday should be warm, with a partly sunny high of 67 degrees. Winds could gust as high as 20 mph. Temperatures will fall to 33 degrees overnight.
Sunday will be mostly sunny as temperatures reach 65 degrees.
Temperatures could bounce back into the 70s early next week, which would be near record highs.
