Rain and snow were diminishing early Friday, giving way to partly sunny, cool skies with light breeze — and a warmer weekend.
The high temperature in metro Denver Friday will be 57 degrees, decreasing to 36 degrees at night, according to the National Weather Service. The highs in Denver will be 70 degrees on Saturday and Sunday, weather service forecasters said.
Early Friday, the storm that rolled across the state this week brought a bit more wet, slushy snow in the mountain foothills west of the city, dissipating after sunrise. Roads still were slippery in spots.
During the day Friday, gray clouds were expected to shroud metro Denver and other cities along Colorado’s Front Range. The wind was expected to gust at speeds as fast as 24 miles per hour.
There’s a chance of more rain in the afternoons and evenings Friday, Saturday and Sunday, but mostly dry weather is likely, forecasters said.
