Denver weather: Sunny skies on Saturday with rain expected Sunday night.

Temperatures will be near seasonal norms in the metro area with highs climbing into the mid- to upper 60s under sunny skies.

In Denver, the high temperature will top out near 68 degrees on Saturday with wind gusts up to 21 mph, according to the National Weather Service forecast. Tonight, skies will be mostly clear as the overnight low dips to about 39 degrees.

On Saturday in the mountains, high temperatures will be in the mid-40s to lower 50s, the weather service said. Strong northwesterly winds, with gusts up to 45 mph, will continue Saturday in the northeast corner of Colorado.

Warm, dry and breezy weather conditions will elevate fire concerns on Sunday afternoon along the southern foothills, the Palmer Divide, and in Park County.

In Denver on Sunday, cloudy skies are expected and the high temperature will top out near 70 degrees, according to the weather service forecast. Winds will gust to about 23 mph. On Sunday night, showers are likely with a possible thunderstorm. The chance for precipitation is 80%.

Snowfall is in the mountain forecast on Sunday evening, with rain on the Eastern Plains. The mountain snow could continue into the day Monday, creating wintry driving conditions in the high country.

Showers, and an afternoon thunderstorm, are likely in Denver on Monday. Skies will be mostly cloudy and the high temperature will be around 54 degrees. The chance for precipitation is 70% and winds will gust to around 22 mph.

Another round of precipitation in the metro area is in the forecast on Wednesday into Thursday.
