Devastated dog pines for owner at funeral after hes killed in deadly landslide

A poor pooch has been photographed pining for its owner who was killed in a deadly landslide in heartbreaking images.

The images show the pup standing next to the coffin of Eduardo Porras, who was killed in a landslide on February 8.

Porras is said to have been waiting for a bus to go to work in the city of Dosquebradas in the Columbian district of Risaralda when he was struck and killed in the landslide.

The family of the deceased say that the dog named Broli is refusing to eat or sleep and will not leave the side of his owner's coffin.

Even with the lack of sleep and food, family members have said that the pain in Broli's eyes captures the grief most of all, with the beloved dog taking the tragedy the hardest of all.

Family member Juan Carlos Moncada said: "Broli is the one who misses him the most, he hasn't left the coffin, he has been there the whole time and really, even animals show their sadness, you can see the loss, his absence."

Broli has remained by the side of the coffin and would wait every day for Eduardo at the front door of their home to say goodbye when the man went to work.

Moncada said: "Even today, when we were trying to organise things, we had to lock him up somewhere else because he wouldn't stop howling in despair."

Vanessa Porras, the victim's daughter, said: "My father was a caretaker, he worked for the education board in Pereira and was based at a schol in La Esperanza."

The landslide that killed Porras also claimed the lives of 15 other residents living in the city.

According to local reports, heavy rainfall triggered the landslide that also left at least 34 people injured in the aftermath.
