A fire that broke out inside Empower Field at Mile High on Thursday has been deemed accidental, according to the Denver Fire Department.
At about 2:15 p.m. Thursday, firefighters responded to a fire that started in a construction zone near the East Club Lounge. The fire quickly burned through a seating area and smoke streaming out of the stadium was visible along Interstate 25 and widespread parts of Denver. There were no injuries in the fire.
An investigation into the fire is ongoing, but the cause is deemed accidental, said Capt. Greg Pixley, a fire department spokesman.
Further details will be released when the investigation is complete, Pixley said.
