Customers at prestigious London department store Harrods have told of their horror after stepping in bloodfollowing a terrifying knife-related incident.

A 29-year-old male is believed to have been the victim of the attack – supposedly targeted for his designer watch he was taken to hospital with what police described as “stab/slash” wounds.

A police cordon was set up around the luxury Knightsbridge department store in West London following the incident on Saturday night (January 28).

At the time of writing, the attacker is still at large and police continue to investigate the matter.

The attack took place in the Louis Vuitton section of the upmarket world-famous retail store, leaving many shoppers witnesses to the horror.

Ronnie Chopra, 49, of Mayfair, central London, was shopping in the store with his teenage daughter at the time and has since called on London Mayor Sadiq Khan to take “drastic action” to prevent violent crime in the city.

“My daughter and I were at the Louis Vuitton concession on the second floor when the incident occurred,” he said.

“We were in the adjacent room waiting to see men’s wallets as my daughter wanted to buy me a birthday present.

“We didn’t see the actual incident, but heard another customer saying that someone had a knife and slashed a person’s arm trying to get a watch.

“When we were leaving the area, there was a pool of blood on the floor and my 13-year-old daughter, Anoushka, sadly walked into it.

“I'm horrified that this occurred inside a shop in London. She was visibly shaken.”

He added: “Mayor Khan seriously has to take drastic action to get rid of the menace that is knife crime.

“He literally has blood on his hands. London is falling.”
