Harry and William may never trust each other again as bond broken, pals fear

Princes William and Harry’s close family and friends reportedly fear their shattered relationship will never be repaired.

Insiders voiced fears after the brothers put on a united front to honour their mum Princess Diana as they unveiled a memorial statue of her at Kensington Palace on Thursday.

Within 24 hours, Prince Harry was seen at Heathrow Airport flying back to his LA home to his wife Meghan Markle and children Archie and Lilibet.

A source told the Mirror: “Despite William and Harry coming together this week for the sole cause of commemorating their mother’s legacy, Harry is very much on the outside.

“They put on a show, did what they had to do to make sure the day went without a hitch and said goodbye.

"It was nothing more, there was nothing to discuss.

"Things are still far too raw for William and other members of the family to entertain Harry, so it's best to let things lie for the moment.”

Following Meghan and Harry's bombshell Oprah tell-all, Harry and William, who were once inseparable, have only spoken a handful of times over text before he arrived back in the UK last week for the statue unveiling.

Sources close to Diana’s family have revealed they are "hopeful" that the two princes can heal their lasting rift, while others close to the pair say it is “almost impossible for Harry to be trusted".

Harry is now not expected back in the UK this summer and has given his family no concrete plan on when he is likely to return to Britain with his family.

Many of the royals, including the Queen and Prince of Wales, have only met his son a handful of times and are yet to meet his baby daughter.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are believed to have only met Archie twice in his whole life.

But those close to the brothers say despite an apparent cooling of relations this week as he came together with brother William to unveil a long awaited statue to commemorate their late mother, Princess Diana.

Another source said: “On the one hand you have Diana’s family, as well as members of the royal family, who will be holding on to any crumb of hope that the two brothers will repair their relationship and on the other some definitely feel the damage is done and it is almost impossible for Harry to be trusted again.”
