Prince Harry "has the utmost love and respect" for his grandmother the Queen "despite everything that's happened", a source claims in the new epilogue chapter of Finding Freedom.

Harry and his wife Meghan Markle announced on January 8 last year that they would step back from senior positions within the Royal Family following talks at Sandringham with Prince Charles, Prince William, and the Queen.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have since relocated with their son, Archie, to California, where they have since been joined by newborn daughter Lilibet.

And now, a new epilogue of the latest edition of unauthorised biography Finding Freedom quotes a source close to the Sussexes as saying Prince Harry and the Queen enjoyed a "very special" reunion following his grandfather Prince Philip's funeral in April.

"To see each other after so long apart, the longest he hadn’t seen the Queen for, was very special," a source told Scobie and Durand.

"Despite everything that has happened, he has the utmost love and respect for her.

"Her life of duty and service is one of the many ways in which she has inspired him to also serve."

Another excerpt from the new chapter of the bombshell book claims Meghan and Harry enjoyed a very low-key celebration for their second wedding anniversary in May last year.

The book claims that the happy couple marked their first 24 months together quietly, at the Los Angeles home of their friend Tyler Perry, with a takeaway and some homemade cocktails.

They avoided visiting a restaurant, as many people did at the time, for fear of picking up or passing on the potentially deadly virus.

In the book, authors Carolyn Durand and Omid Scobie reveal: "With a restaurant outing off-limits, the couple had to get a little creative in May for their second-anniversary festivities at home, spending part of the day looking back at their 2018 with a number of people who had been part of the wedding festivities, including vendors that had helped bring their magical Windsor Castle ceremony to life.

"They capped off the day with a Southern Californian favourite: Mexican food ordered from a popular local restaurant, washed down with margaritas (alcoholic for him, nonalcoholic for her)."

The updated paperback edition of Finding Freedom will be published on August 31.

Neither Harry nor Meghan were involved in the book's publication.

Representatives of the Sussexes and the Queen have been approached for comment.
