Tributes have poured in for a man who's body was found in the woods after he disappeared from his home.
Identified as Billy McDowell, the 59-year-old was reported missing on August 2.
His body was discovered in the woodlands near Whitburn after a search was launched by his worried family.
Mr McDowell disappeared from his home on July 28, however his family formally reported him missing five days later.
Police closed down part of the M8 during the search for Billy as they combed the roadside.
Tragically, a body was found in a wooded area on the outskirts of Whitburn on Sunday, October 18.
The body has been identified as Billy, reports Daily Record.
His family released a statement through Police Scotland and said he would be missed by all his loved ones.
They said: “The family are deeply saddened by this news. Billy will be missed by his mum, brothers and sisters and extended family and friends. We will meet again.”
There are no apparent suspicious circumstances surrounding Billy’s death and a report has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

Inspector Myles Marshall, of Livingston Police Station, said: “Our thoughts are still with Billy’s family and friends and we will continue to provide assistance and support to his family.
"I would also like to thank the public and the local community for their support throughout and for sharing our appeals to trace Billy.”
Billy vanished from his home address on Loch Awe Way, Whitburn, and attended at a number of locations in the town before disappearing.
At the time of his disappearance, Billy’s family had released a statement saying they felt “incomplete” without him.

They said: “We have not seen or heard from Billy since the last week of July.
"Each day Billy is missing seems to become the worst day of our life.
"We are a large and loving family.
"We all feel incomplete without him and are aching for Billy to come home.
"Billy is the last person we think of before we go to bed at night and the first thing we think of when we wake up.”
