A Highlands Ranch woman has been arrested as a suspect in the 2020 death of her newborn child.
Peyton Green, 20, was taken into custody on Thursday in Wyoming on an arrest warrant, according to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office. On Tuesday she was booked into the Douglas County Jail on suspicion of first-degree murder, tampering with a body, and attempt to influence a public servant. Green is currently being held without bond.
On Sept. 28, 2020, deputies responded to a local hospital on a report about a woman treated for a medical emergency who had possibly just given birth, but there was no newborn with the woman, the sheriff’s office said.
Deputies went to the woman’s home and found a deceased infant. After a yearlong investigation an arrest warrant was issued for Green in the case.
