A humpback whale scared people on a small boat when it almost knocked it over sending them all for an early bath.
The passengers were about an hour off the coast of Long Beach, California, US, to celebrate their Memorial Day weekend, when the sea beast approached.
In an eight-second video, which has gained more than 18,000 likes on social media, the whale was seen emerging from the water just inches from the side of the boat – and even touched it on the way back down.

The woman who captured the clip, Nicole Liotta claims that the animal did touch the boat.
The 27-year-old said there were three passengers onboard – two can be heard screaming "out of shock" after seeing how close the mammal was to the boat.
Long Island Wise Guy shared the clip on Instagram and TikTok with the caption: "Memorial Day Weekend starting off with a bang."
It has since amassed over 263,000 views across both apps, as stunned viewers took to the comments saying the incident would have "scared the hell" out of them.
One viewer joked: "I would’ve needed a change of pants."
Another commented: "That’s awesome! May scare the hell out of me but I would love it for sure!!"
A third wrote: "My heart would have stopped if I was on that boat."
“That scream, I’d be doing the same lol,” a fourth added.

The news comes after a Welsh surf school has spotted what it believes to be a humpback whale off the Pembrokeshire coast on one of the warmest days of the year.
West Coast Surf School captured footage of the whale as it surfaced off the coast between Caldey Island and Tenby, Wales Online reports.
The Sea Watch Foundation, which studies whales and dolphins in the UK, said it looked like a humpback.
