Kids game where players throw toy pugs in doggy style position slammed

A kids’ dice game has horrified parents because one of the moves is achieved by throwing two toy pugs into the “doggy style” sex position.

Pass the Pugs players have two mutts to lob and see how they fall in the ages six-plus game, scoring differently for each landing.

One angry parent wrote online: “I don’t think doggy style is appropriate for six-year-olds.”

Another mum added: “I guess young children don’t know the meaning of it, but the leaflet says it’s an undignified position. May re-think that one when playing with children!”

One adult who bought the game for a child pointed out on her Amazon review: "Brought [sic] as a gift for a child – not happy with the 'doggy style' positions for a child."

Another parent agreed, saying some children will question what Doggy Style means, adding: "Yes, I didn't read the description, I just assumed it was suitable for children as it says 6+ on the box. I don't think doggy style is appropriate for 6-year-olds."

Amazon raised the age limit to 12+, while WH Smith is in the process of upping its age limit.

Smyths toy shop still markets the game for six-year-olds. Manufacturers Winning Moves said the position is almost impossible to get but adds humour to the game, which is based on the toy Pass the Pigs.

The creators gave the game a special pug-themed makeover just in time for Christmas, but some parents were clearly still riled.

Similarly to the original version, Pass the Pugs comes in a portable plastic case, and features a score pad, rule book, two pencils and two animal ‘dice’.

In honour of the canine components, some changes have been made including a new scoring system inspired by positions often adopted by the nation’s four-legged friends – including the 'undignified' one.

Other than this position, there’s also the more family friendly Play Dead for five points and Snoozer for one, plus Walkies and Pooped Out.

Doggy Style as well as Puppy Love, results when your pugs touch – and takes you back to zero. The winner is declared ‘top dog’.
