Police have launched murder investigation in Plumstead after a man was stabbed to death in the early hours of this morning.
Emergency services were called to Orchard Road, off Plumstead High Street, at just before 6:30am on Wednesday to reports of a injured man.
A 29-year-old man was found at the scene suffering from a stab wound.
He was rushed to an East London hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said: "At 6:29am on Wednesday, October 28 police were called by London Ambulance Service [LAS] to reports of an injured man at Orchard Road, Plumstead.

"Officers and LAS attended. At the scene a 29-year-old man was found suffering from a stab wound.
"The injured man was taken by LAS to an east London hospital where he was pronounced dead at 7:53am.
"Enquiries are underway to trace next of kin.
"We await formal identification and a post-mortem examination will be scheduled in due course.
"At this early stage there have been no arrests.
"A crime scene and road closures remain in place. Enquiries continue."
Images posted to social media show the police cordon in Orchard Road with both sides of the street taped off.
