A model accused of fatally shooting her partner through the eye before fleeing half-naked in a panic was reportedly attacked by inmates on the day she arrived in jail.

Marcella Ellen Paiva Martins and Jordan Lombardi, 40, were locked in a heated drug-fuelled argument at the Park Way motel in Brasilia, Brazil in the early hours of November 9.

The model, who had been using a cocktail of drugs including cocaine, cannabis and ecstasy with him, allegedly grabbed Lombardi's- gun and fired at him before making off in his Audi in a state of undress.

According to her lawyer, Marcella held up a driver of a school bus at gunpoint during her escape after the company car was remotely halted.

Lombardi's dead body was found with injuries to his face and a bullet hole through his eye. Marcella was later arrested and charged with his murder, along with an additional charge of armed robbery for stealing the driver's vehicle.

The model was initially held in preventive prison in Luziania, but was reportedly subjected to an attack by inmates on the day she arrived.

She was then moved to Barro Alto prison on November 11, where she suffered a panic attack upon arrival, which required medical attention.

Marcella is now being kept on an isolated ward of Barro Alto prison.

A General Directorate of Penitentiary Administration (DGAP) report said of her condition: "She communicated to the criminal police officers that she was not well. She was immediately sent to the municipal health unit, where health professionals diagnosed a panic attack. She was then medicated."

The DGAP added that she is now being kept in an isolated ward away from other prisoners, a move which they said would guarantee her "physical and psychological integrity"

Her lawyer, Jhonny Cleick, says Marcella was diagnosed with a brain tumour several months ago and has not yet begun treatment for the condition.

He said: "I'm waiting for the tumour report to support the request for provisional release."

The couple had planned to get married in January 2023.
