Moment thief used stolen Audi to move police car before escaping arrest

A shocking video circulating on TikTok shows the moment a brazen car thief used the damaged bumper of the stolen vehicle to push a police car out of the way to escape.

In the clip, posted to the app by @qxeenii, shows a silver Audie with broken front and rear bumpers reversing past a police car which was blocking the escape route from a cul-de-sac street in Bow Church, London on May 22.

The car thief then uses the car to move the police vehicle out of their way, damaging other cars in the process.

Police officers were also seen standing in the area, making attempts to get close enough to the recklessly driven vehicle.

One officer manages to get close enough to repeatedly hit the window with a baton but didn't manage to smash the glass before the suspect made their escape.

TikTok users were shocked at the brisk escape as some users compared the scenes to the popular crime-based video game Grand Theft Auto.

One user quipped: "This is me when I try play GTA."

Another added: "I’d absolutely cry if that was my parked car."

A third wrote: "All wheel drive off-road Audi estate he was defo getting away lool."

A fourth said: "Police car should not have given him any space."

The woman who goes by 'J' that posted the video criticised the cops who responded to the incidents as she wrote in the captions: "The police really giving this is out of my paycheck vibes. I’ll post part two of how he got away."

Adding in Part 2: "This wasn’t his first time escaping them I’m not surprised."

Metropolitan Police have been contacted for a comment regarding the incident.
