A town centre has been plunged into chaos after police shut down a street following reports of "multiple stabbings" in the area.
Finkle Street, in Selby, has been taped off by North Yorkshire Police and pedestrians as well as motorists have been blocked from using the road.
In a statement, the force said a man and a woman were found injured just before 9am on December 29.
Police said the incident appeared to have been caused by a "bladed article," YorkshireLive reports.
An air ambulance is understood to have landed in a nearby field and aided several paramedics at the scene before two victims were taken to Leeds General Infirmary.
North Yorkshire Police said one of the victims sustained minor injures and a second was though to have suffered serious injuries.
