Moving house can be incredibly stressful – but winning £30,000 as a result no doubt takes the edge off it!
Mum-of-two Jenny Quilter experienced just that after moving house and finding out her new address had come up on People's Postcode Lottery.
The 53-year-old was the single winning postcode in Stanford-le-Hope, Essex.
Thrilled Jenny, a financial controller, found out she was a winner during a video call with People’s Postcode Lottery ambassador Danyl Johnson.
She said: "Oh my goodness, no way. I can’t believe it. I only moved to this postcode last year, so it’s been a very lucky house so far.
Seeing her cheque on screen, Jenny said: "I keep looking at it – I can’t believe it!"
Luck must run in the family as Jenny isn’t the first person to win Postcode Lottery in the family – her mum Irene won £1,000 a few months ago.
People’s Postcode Lottery ambassador Danyl Johnson said: "I couldn’t be more pleased for Jenny and hope she has a lovely time celebrating with her family before getting to work on those home improvements."
People’s Postcode Lottery costs £10 a month to play and there are guaranteed winners every day.
People play with their chosen postcode and are automatically entered into all draws.
A minimum of 32% of ticket sales goes directly to charities and players of People’s Postcode Lottery have helped raise over £600 million to date for thousands of good causes across Britain and internationally.
This draw was promoted on behalf of ActionAid. Players have raised over £9.7 million for the charity, enabling it to work in over 45 countries to help change the lives of some of the most disadvantaged children and women.
