When Bianca Murton spent £5 on a National Lottery scratch card just over a year ago, little did she know that it would change her life forever.

The 32-year-old mum-of-one from Wolverhampton bought the ticket on a whim.

But now, after winning £300,000, Bianca, nicknamed Bee, has set up her own textiles business, started her driving lessons and planned a major house renovation, all while still working as a community carer.

And she’s also bought a static caravan.

She said: “I won a fiver on the first card, so I was pretty pleased.

“I was just about to walk through the front door, having scratched the second one, when it all went a bit crazy!

“I couldn’t believe what I was staring at and started to shake.

“After many checks and double-checks, I just started to cry.

“I called The National Lottery hotline to make my claim and that night I didn’t sleep a lot – you could say I was buzzing – my mind was racing, thinking about what I could do with the money.

“Afterwards I just couldn’t stop thinking about what had happened.

“The most important things are paying off the mortgage, clearing our debts, treating the family and, for me personally, studying.

“It gives me so much security just to think that when I pay off my mortgage it will be the safe and secure home for my family forever.

“I’ll certainly also feel a lot calmer having no more debt to worry about.”

Bee has spent the last three years working as a community carer – and her winnings haven't made her give up, either.

Having worked through the Covid pandemic she has seen, first-hand, how people have been affected.

She explained: “It is such a fulfilling job, even more so in the pandemic.

“To see the smiles on peoples’ faces when you visit them is very rewarding – it feels great to be doing a job that helps people."

Bee bought her life-changing Lucky Numbers Scratchcard back in April 2021.
