A jogger was mowed down by a truck before being raped and killed, it is alleged.
Sydney Sutherland, 25, was allegedly murdered by farmer Quake Lewellyn, 28, in Arkansas, US.
He buried her body next to a rural road and later joined a search party looking for the missing nurse, according to US reports.
She was reported missing on August 19 after she didn’t return to the home she shared with her boyfriend Alex Nicholson.
A search party gathered to look for her, MirrorOnline reports.
Her body was found two days later buried in a deserted field near the city of Newport.
The jogger and the suspect were reportedly known to each other, although the nature of the relationship remains unclear.
Lewellyn is facing charges of capital murder, rape, kidnapping and abuse of a corpse.
An Arkansas State Police investigator claimed Lewellyn saw her jogging along the rural highway, more than a mile from her home.

During a police interview, he allegedly admitted to ramming her with his pickup and loading her into the truck, before driving her to a remote location.
In court documents, police alleged he then raped her and buried her at the same site.
Her phone is said to have been discovered 2.3miles from where her body was found.
Investigators say they seized Lewellyn's phone and used it to pinpoint his location in relation to where her body was found.
They claim it shows he had been in the vicinity of where the body was buried.
Llewellyn is due to be arraigned on October 29.
