‘Party girl’, 21, dies suddenly as heartbroken sister says ‘fight got too hard’

Tributes poured in for a "party girl" mum-of-two who died suddenly as "the fight got too hard".

Sophie Watts, 21, passed away after taking her own life, her heartbroken family have said.

She was well-known across Teesside with hundreds of people sharing their memories of Sophie on social media since her sudden and tragic death, TeessideLive reports.

Around 150 people gathered at South Gare, Teesside on Saturday to pay tribute to the former nightclub barmaid.

Sophie leaves behind her two young children Jake, two, and Riley, four.

Her devastated sister Bethany, 24, paid tribute on behalf of the family after Sophie died on February 4.

She said: "She was the life and soul of every party and lit up any room she walked into. She was constantly pranking people.

"21-years-old and such a hard life she lived nothing was ever easy for her and in the end, the fight got too hard and she got too tired to fight anymore.

"Our family is so broken at the minute.

"One minute we had her the next she was gone just like that."

Bethany said her sister's death was a shock to friends and family and told how "no one was expecting it".

She added: "She rang people on that morning so no one was expecting it. She always said 'love you bye' – so it was a normal thing."

Sophie, who lived in Guisborough, Teesside, leaves behind dad Peter, mum Debbie, and siblings Ged, Michael, Damo, Peter, Nicola, Lisa and Bethany.

A fundraising page has been set up to help pay towards the costs of her funeral. To visit click here.

"She was loved by many and going to be missed so very much words can’t describe how we are feeling," a statement on the page says.

"Please help us give her the send of she deserves."
