Prince Andrew has been stripped of his honorary 'freedom of York' title following a brutal unanimous vote by York City Council.

Councillors voted for the removal in an Extraordinary Council Meeting on Wednesday in the latest blow for the disgraced Duke.

It comes after Prince Andrew reached an out of court settlement with his accuser, Virginia Giuffre, in a civil sex claim filed in the US.

The prince managed to avoid trial with the settlement which is said to be £12million.

Andrew has vehemently denied all allegations.
