Prince Harry stayed at Frogmore Cottage for last time during surprise UK visit

Prince Harry stayed at Frogmore Cottage one last time before he and Meghan Markle will be booted out of the property while he was in London for his phone hacking court case against the Daily Mail owners, Associated Newspapers.

Harry made a series of unexpected appearances in London last week to attend a series of hearings at the High Court, alleging that he was a victim of phone hacking allegedly conducted by the Daily Mail.

The Telegraph reported that the prince used his time in the UK to sort out the couple’s belongings and work out what needs to be shipped to the US ahead of vacating the property.

Harry did not see King Charles before he left for his state visit to Germany, as the king was 90 minutes away in Highgrove, and was said to be too busy.

The prince’s appearance in the UK was the first time the 38-year-old Duke had returned to the UK since his father told him he would need to leave Frogmore Cottage.

He and Meghan were told at the beginning of the year that they would need to vacate the property following the publication of his controversial memoir “Spare”.

They have been told they need to have all their things packed up and shipped to California by King Charles’ coronation next month.

The property has reportedly been offered to the disgraced Prince Andrew, who currently resides at 30-room Royal Lodge, also in Windsor, with his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson.

The not-so-royal couple were said to have been “disappointed” by King Charles’ decision to offer the five-bedroom Georgian property to the Duke of York.

The couple were initially gifted Frogmore Cottage as a wedding present by the late Queen Elizabeth.

Harry and Meghan spent £2.4 million of public money renovating the cottage, which they eventually repaid.

Associated Newspapers has been contacted for comment regarding the ongoing proceedings.
