Prince William has taken to Twitter to wish England manager Gareth Southgate and his players well after the Three Lions bowed out of the 2022 World Cup with a quarter final defeat to France.
Southgate's side rallied from a goal down to equalise through a Harry Kane penalty, but Frenchman Olivier Giroud headed the winner 12 minutes from time to send Les Bleus through.
Kane, meanwhile, missed another late penalty to level the tie, meaning England's 56 year hunt for a major trophy goes on.

The Prince of Wales, who is the current president of the Football Association, said he was 'gutted'.
Tweeting from the 'KensingtonRoyal' account he shares with his wife, Princess of Wales, Katherine, Wills wrote: "Gareth, Harry and the whole @England squad and staff, gutted for all of you. You put so much into this tournament and we are all so proud of you. Heads held high and on to the next one! W."
Hundreds of fans responded, echoing the 40-year old's sentiments.
One wrote: "One hundred per cent agree. A great team. Onwards!!"
Another commented: "Absolutely played so well. Everyone is so proud of them. This team has such great potential."
A third added: "This is NOT a disgrace; England played very well, Kane played very well. France is a great team. The level all these players are at is exceptional. Proud of England.
And a fourth said: "Hear Hear! Stirring words of leadership from our future King."

After the game, meanwhile, enraged England fans hilariously tweaked the Wikipedia page of Walton Sampaio – the referee who took charge of Saturday evening's game.
Although he went on to award England two penalties in the second half, the Brazilian hardly endeared himself to the nation after failing to award England a free kick for a foul on Bukayo Saka just before France took the lead.
And later England were denied what looked like a stonewall penalty, when Harry Kane was bundled over in the French penalty area by Dayot Upamecano.
Sampaio's page was subsequently altered to read: "Wilton Pereira Sampaio is a French fan and a Brazilian football referee.
"He is currently under investigation for falsely not awarding a penalty to England after Harry Kane was assaulted."
