Royal fans fear for Queens health as bruise spotted in pics at Jubilee event

Speculation over the Queen's health has ramped up this weekend, as new images of her leaving an event to kick off her Platinum Jubilee celebrations emerged.

A photo of the 95-year-old monarch caused concern on Twitter, as users spotted bruising on her leg.

While leaving Sandringham House, having attended and cut the cake during an event in the ballroom filled with members of the local community, she was snapped with walking stick in hand.

But it was her left leg which caused consternation.

@RoyallyBlunt tweeted: “That grey patch on her left leg . . . I hope she didn't hurt herself.

“It's really good to see her.”

@klaagblondy posted: “That leg is also more swollen (which is) not a good sign – lost even more weight.

“God bless her.

And @DianaDidi15 wrote: “My mom got to the same age, and she permanently had bruises in every place you could think of, as the skin becomes so fragile it bruises at the slightest touch.”

While representatives from Buckingham Palace refused to give the Daily Star a health update on Her Majesty, the Mayo Clinic has shed some light on how your skin changes with age.

A spokesman said: “If you bruise easily, a minor bump — one you might not even notice — can result in a substantial bruise.

“Some people — especially women — are more prone to bruising than others.

“As you get older, your skin also becomes thinner and loses some of the protective fatty layer that helps cushion your blood vessels from injury.

“Easy bruising sometimes indicates a serious underlying condition, such as a blood-clotting problem or a blood disease.

“To find the cause of your bruising, your doctor might check your blood platelet levels or do tests that measure the time it takes your blood to clot.”

In October, 2021, it was announced she would be taking some time of from major royal responsibilities to rest, in what became one of her longest periods out of the public eye since her reign began in 1953 – she missed attending the cenotaph during Remembrance Sunday, which was the first time she had done so for more than 40 years.
