The Voice singer Jeffrey Anderson told police he was strumming a miniature guitar when he was masturbating in his mum's sports car.
The Reality TV star, who also appeared on Andrew Lloyd Webber's Superstar and gained the nickname 'Baby Jesus', exposed himself in the view of a teenage girl when she was walking home from school.
The 31-year-old is known from the BBC's The Voice in 2014 and was found guilty by a jury at Belfast Crown Court of committing a lewd act and outraging public decency.
A 12-year-old schoolgirl raised the alarm after she saw a man masturbating in a blue BMW Z4 parked on St Jude's Parade in south Belfast on June 20, 2018.
The teenager, now 16, recalled how she was walking with friends after school and saw a man masturbating, writes BelfastLive.
She said: "It was a really fancy sports car and as I walked past it a man just caught my eye.
"His seat was completely rolled back and I could see his bottom half, which was naked.
"He had his pants down and he was rubbing his penis."
The young witness said the incident made her feel "worried and uncomfortable", and after leaving her friends at a bus stop, she went home and told her mum what she had seen.
Her mother then drove to the area and took a picture of the BMW which was still parked.
Anderson denied exposing himself and masturbating in the car, and said he parked on the street hoping to meet a friend.
He claimed he parked up, spoke to friends on his phone and retrieved his guitar from the boot, smoked a cigarette, and began playing his mini Baby Taylor guitar.
When asked what the teenage girl may have seen, he claimed he had a hair tie around the top of his thumb and alleged she may have "mistaken" it for a penis.
The jury was also told of Anderson's previous convictions for voyeurism, which prosecutors argued: "had a tendency to engage in criminal acts for his own sexual gratification."
He was handed a three-year suspended sentence last July after admitting secretly recording 11 women over a period spanning from 2005 to 2013.
Anderson said the offences occurred when he was immature and they were "selfish mistakes".
However, his version was rejected by the jury, who convicted Anderson on a charge of 'committing an act of a lewd obscene and disgusting nature and outraging public decency by exposing and rubbing his penis whilst sitting in a parked car in view of a member of the public'.
Anderson, from County Down, Northern Ireland, is set to be sentenced at the same court on December 3.
