A horror explosion at a petrol station has killed three people with rescuers still searching the devastated site of collapsed walls and debris.
Irish police confirmed three fatalities had been suffered as a result of the Applegreen service station in Co Donegal, Ireland blowing up on Friday.
A statement from the Irish police force, An Garda Siochana said officers are still at the scene of the explosion with other emergency services following the deadly blast at 3:20pm on Friday, 7th October, 2022.

Donegal County Council Fire Service is leading the response with help from a massive collaborative effort between no fewer than 13 emergency departments.
The exhaustive list included: An Garda Siochana, the National Ambulance Service, Irish Coast Guard, the Coast Guard Rescue 118 Helicopter, Irish Air Corps Medivac 112, Northern Ireland Ambulance HEMS, Irish Community Air Ambulance (Ground Crew), Northern Ireland Urban Search and Rescue, Meavagh Fire Service, Donegal Mountain Rescue, Northern Ireland Ambulance Service HART team (Hazardous Area Response Team) and the Donegal County Council Civil Defence.
A spokesperson for An Garda Siochana said: “This continues to be an ongoing operation and An Garda Siochana are not in a position to provide further information on casualties at this time."
Scene images taken soon after the explosion, show the garage completely wrecked with bricks from what appears to be the walls of residential flats, scattered across the tarmac.

Parts of the roof to the pumps was pictured peeling off above parked cars and solar panels fixed to the roof of the adjacent three storey apartment block looked to be hanging on by a thread.
Earlier on Friday evening, local Sinn Fein TD Pearse Doherty told RTE News: "This is something that's your worst nightmare. This is a quiet village, a very close-knit village.

"This is the only shop in the town, it's the petrol station, it's the deli counter, it's the post office, it's where the hairdresser is, and at 3.15pm this afternoon a massive explosion – that could be heard for miles around – ripped right through this building. It's very sombre here, there's silent prayers being said.
"There are people still trapped inside the building and the emergency services are doing everything they can to remove the rubble and people are being airlifted away to hospitals in the region."
