Tired Queen needs sun, sand, sangria in Malaga, not another scandal – expert

The Queen is "tired" and needs a break to escape the "never ending" scandals caused by her family, claims a royal expert.

Daniella Elser believes the monarch needs "sun, sand, sangria in Malaga" after she was forced to cut her annual holiday to Balmoral Castle short following Boris Johnson's resignation as Prime Minister.

But as a series of revelations have continued to plague the royals, the Queen deserves a well-earned break, claims Elser.

It comes after it was revealed that Prince Charles accepted a donation of £1m from the family of Osama Bin Laden two years after the leader was killed.

Prior to this, her son Prince Andrew was involved in a bombshell civil sex case with Virginia Giuffre, which was eventually settled. The Duke of York has always rejected any wrongdoing.

And Prince Harry's explosive memoir is still looming over the Palace as the royals anxiously await its release.

In her column for NewsAu, the expert wrote: "The poor woman must be so tired. Not only is she still working, more than three decades after most people retire, but her family is a source of never ending scandal and strain with things only looking like they are going to ramp up more."

The monarch usually spends time in Balmoral for a two month break starting from July, but as the next Conservative leader will be announced in September, the Queen will have to return early to meet them.

Elser continued: "If you ask me, and no one is, what Her Majesty needs right now is not another wet week wobbling over the moors and ruminating on how it all went wrong but needs to rally her lady-in-waiting of more than 60 years Lady Susan Hussey and abscond for a 72-hour all-inclusive gals weekend to Malaga.

"Sun, sand, sangria and not having to think about all the brewing Windsor scandals? Now that’s a real holiday."
