A woman was injured in a base jumping accident Sunday when her parachute failed to fully open after she jumped near Grey Wolf Mountain in the Mount Evans Wilderness in Clear Creek County, according to the county sheriff’s office.
The incident was reported at about 9 a.m. and it will take rescuers several hours to recover the injured woman, who was conscious and breathing at last report, according to the sheriff’s office. She jumped from the “Black Wall” area, according to the sheriff’s office.
Rescuers from the sheriff’s office, the Alpine Search and Rescue Team and two helicopters will participate in the rescue.
