Earthquake topples crane from top of building in Philippines<\/h3>\n

A crane has toppled off a highrise building after a strong earthquake shook the area, leaving people screaming in fear.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The chilling video shows rickety footage of an ominous-looking twenty-storey tower block under construction in Asia, with one person ironically saying: \u201cI would be very reassured to live in that building\u201d.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Four pieces of the crane plunged to the ground in Davao City in the Philippines, leaving a cloud of grey smoke to slowly seep downwards.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Davao City Police confirmed that no injuries were reported in the stressful incident, although Sky News have reported that a house was struck by a piece of \u201clarge debris\u201d during the incident.\u00a0<\/p>\n

It came amid a huge magnitude 6.7 earthquake that occurred in the Celebes Sea on Friday, in the southern Philippines.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Authorities have confirmed that six people have died so far, and a search is on for two more missing people after a landslide in the coastal town of Glan, Reuters reports.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Other countries affected by the quake include Indonesia and Malaysia.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Situated on the famous Pacific \u201cring of fire\u201d, the Philippines experiences regular earthquakes and volcanic eruptions.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The deadliest earthquake the country has experienced was an 8.0 magnitude one which killed 4,791 people in 1976, leaving a further 2,288 missing and 9,928 injured.<\/p>\n
