UK Foreign Office officials are warning that terrorist attacks are likely across Europe during the upcoming Christmas season. The travel advice comes amid a similar warning issued by European Commissioner Ylva Johansson on Tuesday, December 6.<\/p>\n
France has raised the country’s threat level to its highest following a deadly attack on October 13 in Arras. The Foreign Office is advising Britons travelling to France to remain vigilant, warning: “Terrorists are very likely to try to carry out attacks in France.”<\/p>\n
Similar warnings are in place for Spain, Italy and Germany. The places listed included restaurants, markets, shopping centres as well as places of worship including synagogues.<\/p>\n

On October 23, Mustafa Maya, a prominent Jihadi recruiter, was apprehended in Melilla, and ‘Said B,’ a Jihadist TikTok user detained in Barcelona for plotting attacks against the Jewish and LGBT communities, was arrested.<\/p>\n In addition, four people were arrested in October as part of nationwide anti-terrorism efforts. The Foreign Office advices for both Germany and Spain currently reads: “There is a high threat of terrorist attack globally affecting UK interests and British nationals, including from groups and individuals who view the UK and British nationals as targets. You should remain vigilant at all times.”<\/p>\n Don’t miss… <\/strong> The advice for travellers to Italy states: “Italian authorities have increased security around some Jewish community sites due to events in Israel and the Occupied Palestinian Territories.<\/p>\n “Stay aware of your surroundings, stay away from demonstrations and follow the advice of local authorities.”<\/p>\n An expert added: “With the war between Israel and Hamas, and the polarisation it causes in our society, with the upcoming holiday season, there is a huge risk of terrorist attacks in the European Union.”<\/p>\n
